"Lady-Bug, Queenie, Gus and Kai" are the canine corp, with "Pete, Gideon, Mitzy and Ali" as the feline corp.
In 2005, after 17 wonderful years, our dear Duchess passed on. A short time later, Princess, who never stopped grieving for Duchess, who was her surrogate Mom, passed away, too. We had acquired Gus (Black Lab/Chesapeake Bay Retriever/Border Collie mix) before losing Duchess and Princess...an interesting occurance happened when we buried our beloved pets. Gus, who had already bonded, began to grieve and guard the gravesites! This would repeat, with a change of "characters" the following year! In 2006, we acquired "Kai" (Black Lab/Airdale mix) who has more life than the combination of the remaining "Puppers"! When Brutus suddenly died this April, Kai was very watchful and guarded upon Brutus' buriel!
As soon as I can transfer the photos to this computer, I will post them...needless to say they are all adorable"!
